Female body shape or figure is the cumulative product of a woman’s skeletal structure and the quantity and distribution of muscle and fat on the body. As with most physical traits, there is a wide range of normality of female body shapes.

Human beings and cultures have perennially focused attention on the female body as a source of aesthetic pleasure, sexual attractionfertility, and reproduction. There are, and have been, wide differences on what should be considered an ideal or preferred body shape, both for attractiveness and for health reasons. These have varied among cultures simultaneously.

Women’s bodies occur in a range of shapes. Female figures are typically narrower at the waist than at the bust and hips. The bust, waist, and hips are called inflection points, and the ratios of their circumferences are used to define basic body shapes

Body measurements can provide a good estimate of health status and risk factors for chronic diseases, but measurements alone do not determine health status. Health is a subjective phenomenon; every individual is distinctive. We are exposed to different risk factors based on environment, lifestyle and family history. Nevertheless, the three most commonly employed measurements utilized to estimate health status include body mass index, waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio.

Body Mass Index

Body mass index is calculated from a person’s height and weight, which may indicate fat composition. However, BMI does not account for muscle mass which means elite athletes may have high bmi ratings. Typically, BMI is used as an indicator of health status as the lower or higher the BMI, the greater the health risk based on the assumed amount of body fat. The ideal healthy BMI for women would fall into the normal range of 18.5 to 24.9. The Arizona Department of Health Services reports 57 percent of Arizona women have a BMI of 25 or greater,.meaning they are overweight or obese.

Waist Circumference

As the term implies, waist circumference measures the distance around your waist. This measurement is considered to have greater value in assessing the health status of individuals than BMI as it more accurately predicts the amount of fat. Fat on the abdomen increases risks for chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease. A woman’s ideal waist circumference measurement should be less than 35 inches.

Waist-to-Hip Ratio

The American College on Exercise notes that your waist-to-hip ratio is the most accurate estimated measurement of good health. To find your ratio, divide your waist circumference by the measurement around your hips. An ideal waist-to-hip measurement for women is less than 0.75 inches indicates excellence and 0.80 to 0.86 indicates average. Anything above 0.86 is cause for concern.

Being thin and beautiful doesn’t sound like cause for concern, but that ideal can lead young women to be highly dissatisfied with their bodies, something that can bring about unhealthy behaviors. Now, researchers have found that certain factors, including family support and stress-busting strategies, can act as a buffer against such pressures.

The research is based on a theoretical model suggesting certain factors can boost well-being and, in turn, lead to a healthy body image. The researchers, including Shannon Snapp of the University of Arizona, wanted to test out the model.

Snapp and her colleagues decided to focus their test on college students, a group likely to experience self-consciousness about appearance, they said.



Past research has shown between 25 percent and 40 percent of U.S. college students experience negative body image and eating problems “that often include extreme worries about body image, excessive weight management strategies, and out-of-control eating episodes,” write the study researchers this week in the journal Sex Roles.

Ralph Lauren‘s greatest achievement was creating an all-encompassing aspirational lifestyle disguised as a clothing brand. His labels—Polo, Purple Label, Black Label, RLX—are best experienced in their immersive retail environments and through photographer Bruce Weber’s cinematic ads. The clothing is no less desirable than the styling—the lifestyling, if you will—of the ranches and yachts and rugby teams and shoppable “mansions” Lauren has built around the world.

But the aspirational lifestyle is an evolving concept. Now we find it in the most unlikely places, often via the frenetic streams of Instagram (where Ralph Lauren has 940K followers and counting), Tumblr, and e-commerce, platforms that are free from the confines of physical space. Everything is a brand. People are brands, and they are no less special than actual brands. Labels are as desirable as ever, but their worlds are somehow less vivid than the worlds captured in the more personal accounts we follow. So where does that leave Ralph Lauren?

In the case of Purple Label, the clothes have never looked better. The browns and creams of the haberdashery section were classic and timeless, even with the distinctly old-timey flair of collar stands exaggerated to appear removable. Throughout, there was an emphasis on textured, breathable fabrics, such as a chunky silk and linen twill that felt much lighter than it looked. The strongest statements in tailoring came in shades of blue—the vibrant, French blue double-breasted blazer with wide peak lapel and a lightweight denim three-piece suit that looked more like a rich navy linen were highlights. A selection of Purple Label sportswear could have been billed as Polo’s greatest hits, including bonded leather jackets and trunks in vintage French prints. The safari section—quintessential Ralph Lauren—was given a slight twist rendered in black and tan. Black Label, equally refined, proposed a European take on the Purple Label ethos. Suits were slimmer, softer, and minimally adorned.

The preppy, Polo-wearing jock, meanwhile, hasn’t changed too much over the years. He still layers his clothes with careful dishevelment, contorts his collars and cuffs to turn up at the perfect angles, and mixes his oxfords and blazers with his sports gear. Polo juxtaposed every trope of American masculinity—it was boyish and rugged, nerdy and jockish, preppy and rough-hewn. The real news here is that the Polo guy will soon be getting some female company, with a Polo women’s line and accompanying Fifth Avenue flagship slated to launch this month.

The appeal of Ralph Lauren’s lifestyle hasn’t faded, but the way we experience it is changing. Stores and ads, no matter how perfectly they’re styled, don’t have the impact they once had. Ralph Lauren’s challenge is to figure out how to control our desire in this brave new multichannel world. We consume differently because we see each other and ourselves differently. You imagine a pioneer like Lauren will relish the challenge. In fact, Weber’s portfolio for Polo women’s won’t just appear in print but will have an online life in the form of a video series on It might be an acknowledgment that the guy from the glossy Polo spread isn’t real enough anymore, or at least can no longer stand alone. He may still exist, but you won’t find him only in the mansion.

Secondly, you have to have to start watching what you eat. Proper dietary habits based on the recommended daily dietary allowance should be followed. It will be helpful if you  also adhered to a balanced diet based on what the food pyramid recommends. Most importantly, you should select and consistently engage in a bikini body workout program that focuses on the abdominal area, your thighs and your buttocks, or any area that you feel can be improved so you can have the best bikini body.

Your bikini body workout program should start with warm up exercises to get your body ready for action. The most helpful segment of the workout program will be the cardio exercises to help with fat loss, and which helps to energize your heart and get it pumping.

Now obviously, even if you manage to lose a large quantity of body fat, this may not give you the best bikini body possible. You need to look toned and healthy. So, for example, to tone your abs, the main workout for the abdominals can be exercises the give full attention to that area of your body. You could start with crunches, which is the most common exercise that helps work a set of nice and flat abs. There are variations to that kind of bikini body workout, depending on your preference. Also, you could use certain machines and other materials such as the exercise ball in workouts that focus on sculpturing your abs or your thighs and calves.

To get the best bikini body by following a bikini body workout, the program has to be practiced by people who have a strong sense of self-discipline. If you fail to be consistent in following your bikini workout schedule or if you do not give it your best shot, then you will need more time to get the desired outcome
